Harbour Cottage is situated on the banks of a small natural harbour popular with local fishermen. This is one of the securest harbours on the island and guests sometimes bring their own boats and dinghies to take advantage of this feature. With its commanding views over crofts and across the Minch, the cottage boasts one of the most beatiful settings on this beautiful island. The cottage is nestled on the shore down from the road and there is a slope down to the cottage that might possibly cause problems for the elderly or infirm.
Upstairs consists of a sun lounge and three bedrooms: one double, one twin one single plus double room. Two of the bedrooms have sloping roofs. Bedroom fittings are new and of good quality and each room has independently adjustable panel heating. All linen and towels are provided. We think that Harbour Cottage is unique and we try to keep it that way, with many guests returning year after year. Our guest book is overflowing with superlatives from those who love its easy atmosphere, its homely comforts and its superb setting and views. One guest even relates how another family visiting the island jokingly threatened to slash their tyres for booking 'their cottage' before them! However, there are also a few brickbats from those seeking more standard accommodation - but we think that that is the price to pay for maintaining the cottage's individuality in these days of uniformity. The guest book is always ther for you to let us know what you think!
