KISIMUL CASTLE (Seat of the clan MacNeil of Barra)

Beach

Introduction

Hebridean Cottage Holidays is a family-run business with two self-catering cottages set in idyllic shore-line surroundings about three miles east of Castlebay.

Harbour Cottage and South Bank Cottage were traditionally built as croft houses and they are both based right on the water's edge and command superb views of the Minch and across to Skye.

Enjoy the nearby sandy coves and beaches at this location, with mile long beaches along the Atlantic Coast. A short car drive from both cottages will take you to the glorious golden sands of Vatersay, Tangusdale and Eoligarry. Barra is famed for its beautiful unspoilt views and at the Traigh Mhor you will see the plane land on the beach each day.

Your host during your stay Eoin MacNeil, will be there to welcome you on your arrival on and you can expect to be treated to a fine Hebridean welcome.

We are sure that you will enjoy your stay with us and we will do our utmost to ensure that you have an enjoyable time on the Isle of Barra.

Free transport to and from Ferry can be arranged if required.

Castlebay is named after the ancient Kisimul Castle and we would be happy to arrange your visit to the castle.

The local Heritage Centre is also located in Castlebay as well as the Tourist Information Centre, Hotels, Bank, Shops, Café and Swimming Pool.
