Someone stopped the world and we got off for two lovely weeks. This place should be available on the NHS - it would save them millions!

We love it at the house. So far we have been crabbing 3 times and we have caught 52 crab’s all together and we have been fishing 1 time and we caught a crab when we were fishing. I think Olga likes it hear. We did not catch enything when we were fishing it’s a shame but we did catch a crab. And of couse we put all the crab’s back in to the river. When we went to the beach we found a rugby ball.

A wonderful location to bring in the New Year. We both have had a fab time spending our time walking the beaches - Borve, Eoligarry and so on. Had a brilliant night at the Vatersay Hall on 1st Jan. featuring the Vatersay Boys! Also nice to meet up with so many nice and welcoming people. Back again sometime soon!

We have enjoyed Mediterranean sun, scuba diving on amazing wrecks. The houses are great! The sun room has been very sunny and the location is perfect for water lovers like us. Big feasts every night, friendly fishermen. Many thanks for the hospitality Tom!!

This island seems to encapsulate all my favourite places in one location.  The peace here, despite the gale, is stunning

and there is time just to stare and marvel at the sheer beauty. This cottage is a real gem and I am sure that we shall hope to return one day soon.  Barra has certainly stolen my heart!

Bays, beaches and brilliant sunsets.  Blasted by wind and bronzed by sunshine

Adventures around every corner. Freedom and peace. Space to wander and explore.

Relaxation Coal fires and stormy nights. Cooking to candlelight Horizons.

Romance. A step away from an everyday world of wifi and distraction. Time to share.

Airport on the beach.  Goodbye Barra – we’ll see you again soon!

Rachael and Gareth. South Bank October 2016

Our first time in Barra and it certainly won’t be or last.  This cosy cottage and its spectacular location have blown us way completely!  We’ve been surfing with Ben from the hostel (realy fun!), had dinner at the Kisimul Café, (scallop pakoras and Monkfish curry – AMAZING!!), Castlebay Hotel does very nice food with a grand view, been to the fish factory for delicious fresh fish, across to the castle, to the museum, the Tartan Table Café [now Blasda - Tom] and watched planes taking off

at the airport – which was exciting! Having said all that, the couple of days we spent looking at the views from the cottage were just as amazing.  Perhaps we need 2 weeks next time?!

I agree entirely!  Even Devon (as beautiful as it is) will never seem the same again.  Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful cottage!

I’m a great believer that buildings have personalities and Harbour Cottage has a very warm and welcoming soul.  We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’ve loved being beckoned out every morning by the cuckoos and entertained in the evenings by the various wildlife visiting the little harbour. The sun room is especially fine. The island is superb and very

relaxing.  Our batteries are well and truly re-charged.

This place is magnificent and just what we needed – simply basic and basically simple.

Andy and Chris. South Bank February 2017

Lovely old cottage, perfect size for the two of us and dogs for a week. Wonderful location on this little bay in Earsary (no otters seen). Superb wildlife everywhere – Dolphins, Common and Grey Seals, and white-tailed Eagle in and over Sound of Fuday...many seabirds/waders/shorebirds.  Beautiful machair, even a few Pyramidal Orchids still out… lovely stay.

John and Fiona. South Bank August 2016

Fantastic location, sun room brilliant for bird and seal watching.  Weather mixed…Dolphins playing around

Vatersay.  Golden Eagles at RSPB Bird of Prey trail, Craigston – need binoculars to see them though….  Thanks Tom, cottage unique!
